Musings with Jesus On Credibility

A while back I wanted to explain something to someone important to me and they refused to listen. I honored their refusal, though it hurt me.  Later I realized that the message I “heard” was, “I don’t want you to explain, because you don’t have any credibility with me.”  While writing in my journal the next day, I asked Jesus, “What do you want me to know  about this person’s refusal to let me explain and my feeling that I have no credibility with them?” His answer warmed my heart and healed that place that felt unlistened to:

“Again, I say I love you and I delight in you. I see your credibility even if others do not. What I think of you is far beyond your desire to be known, understood and listened to.  I hold you in my arms and smile at you. Someone not listening to your explanation does not diminish your credibility.  The lack is in their eyes.  Rest in Me. Look at Me. I have taught you, shown you things, given you wisdom.  Some will listen. Some will not. Remember– a prophet is often without honor in his own place. I am your wisdom; your credibility.”

For in Him all the fulness of  Diety dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete. . .  Colossians 2:9-10.

Isn’t it wonderful that we can trust in and rely on what Jesus says about us regardless of what others may inadvertently (or purposefully) communicate to us.  Thank you, Jesus, for the honor and privilege of walking with You.  And, thank You for Your love and grace that warms and heals our hearts. Thank You that You make us acceptable and complete.
