Conversations With Jesus

I’ve journaled for many, many years, mostly writing down my prayers and pains, like a diary to God. I like to write anyway and journaling keeps my mind on what I’m praying about,  with an added plus that I feel like I’ve left some of the problem there in my journal, as if it were in God’s lap.

Immanuel process

For quite a while now I’ve been writing down what Jesus says back to me instead of just hearing it in my heart. Through the Share Immanuel process, I’ve learned to ask Jesus, “What do you want me to know about that?” after I have written out my prayers and pains.  Then I write down what He says.  Sometimes, I just ask Him, “What do want to say to me tonight?”  He might want to heal something painful and/or say some loving words to me.  Either way, I am enjoying some lovely conversations with Jesus. Today I will share a couple with you from my journal-slightly edited for some privacy.

Me: Jesus, I’ve always known that You were here and showing me things, but I really like this writing out our dialogue.  In church today I worshiped and loved You deeply, especially singing “Tyler’s song,”  (AKA “My Affection” by Tyler Gardner).  I love singing that song with 2600 people. It’s like Heaven will be some day. I loved hearing again about the Tabernacle and knowing how You fulfilled it all. Now, “What do You want me to know tonight?”

Jesus: “You are My delight. I saw you loving on Me at church. I like that song, too. And I like you even more. (I saw Him smiling.) I’m proud of you today for coming to me when that knot came in your stomach.  You listen to me. I will make things clear anytime.  You are not making this up (a smile again).

Jesus: I want you to help others with the Immanuel Process. Some will listen and learn. I just love you so much, Bringer of Joy. You bring me joy all the time. I want you to know ever more deeply how awesome you are. I will complete the work I have begun.  If you need it (or want it), I will affirm you and brag on you any time” (another smile).

Me: I would love that, Lord.

Jesus: “I see you through Heaven’s eyes.” (Now chuckling.)

Me: I love You, Jesus,  BOJ

Me: Lord, I’m lifting up many to You tonight—Brenda, Margie, Meredith, Daddy, Trish & Caleb.  Thank you for them, bless, heal, and protect.  What do You want me to know tonight?

Jesus: “I love you, Precious. Enjoy Connor and Ryan tomorrow. They bring you joy. I will show you about going to Oak Ridge. I’m taking care of Meredith and your Daddy. Just rest in My lap. My love and my life will flow through you to many. Enjoy the THRIVE you are teaching again.”

Thank You, Lord, BOJ

Thanks for sharing your personal thoughts and conversations with Jesus. It reminds me about the importance of authenticity and vulnerability, knowing that God uses that the most to bless others. I am so thankful for how you have blessed my life and the many wonderful things you have shared with me.

    Love you lots, Juli
